This workshop will broadly examine clinical work with suicidal patients.  There are many contemporary developments in "clinical suicidology" that will be reviewed that will inform a primary focus on the assessment and treatment of suicidal states.  A unique evidence-based approach called the "Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality" (CAMS) will be featured.  CAMS employs the use of the "Suicide Status Form" (SSF) as a clinical roadmap to guide effective clinical care.  Various cases and video presentations will also be presented to illustrate key points.  Finally, this workshop will provide critical guidance for decreasing the prospect of malpractice liability related to working with suicidal risk.
