DCPA Wellness Series:
As mental health professionals, we know all too well the impact of persistent stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue, especially during the pandemic these last two years. We also are often the first to neglect our own self-care. The DC Psychological Association would like to honor the work that you have been doing for our community by investing a small-token of appreciation in return for your work with this Wellness Series. DCPA is providing the following wellness sessions in March and April: Vinyasa and Yin Yoga (3/21), Morning Meditation (4/5), Evening Yoga Nidra (4/18). These sessions are FREE for DCPA members as well as open to the public at a minimal rate. We encourage all mental health providers to join us, as we create a safe and compassionate space that will be shared with fellow healers.
Class description:
Susan will lead a 30 minute morning meditation to help ground and soothe burn out. Susan uses sound bowls and mudras in her meditations. Mudras are hand positions that are used during meditation to stimulate specific healing states of mind and to help link the brain to the body, soothe pain, stimulate endorphins, change the mood and increase our vitality.
