Description

This customized course on Anti-racism and Advocacy is rooted in empirical research and common psychological practices. This program of instruction is useful for participants and helpful in the overall development of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the field of psychology and beyond. 

Both presenters have utilized the course content to present in a variety of academic, research, governmental and private organizational settings.

*Participants must commit to attending both sessions.  4 CE hours are available at the end of the second session.* 

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will be able to identify the everyday value of establishing rhythms of anti-racism and advocacy.

2. Participants will be able to identify distinct differences between anti-racist perspectives and advocacy.

3. Participants will be able to identify individual choices that will co-create positive change within their sphere of influence regarding anti-racism

Presenters: Cedric Williams, Ph.D. and Ryan Warner, Ph.D. 

Cedric Williams, Ph. D.


Dr. Williams is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Legacy Consulting & Research Group. Dr. Williams is an enthusiastic leader who enjoys helping individuals and organizations thrive.  

Dr. Williams has experience in assessment, consulting, speaking, and social-scientific research. His research interests include multicultural competence, psychological well-being, occupational thriving, positive interpersonal relationships, resilience, and DE&I. At Legacy, Dr. Williams works directly with delivering coaching and consulting services to clients. Dr. Williams serves as the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Chairperson for the American Psychological Association, Division 13 Society of Consulting Psychology. In addition to his experience in Consulting Psychology, Dr. Williams has served in the United States Army and Reserve Components for over 18 years. He is an Airborne and Ranger qualified Infantry Officer, who has provided leadership to soldiers in a variety of operational and training positions.

Ryan Warner, Ph. D.


Ryan C. Warner, Ph.D., CRC is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of RC Warner Consulting, LLC. He is a sought after speaker, consultant, researcher, and psychologist. He specializes in providing consultation services to enhance organizational commitment and effectiveness by delivering educational trainings on diversity, inclusivity, mental health, and leadership development.  Dr. Warner has conducted talks and trainings at both national and international levels. His research interests involve PTSD and substance use, clinical health psychology, and the analysis of social forces affecting racial/ethnic minorities. Additionally, Dr. Warner has held leadership positions across the nation, has been published in various peer review journals, and has served as a graduate-level instructor.
