Free Military Member Meeting

These free virtual meetings are provided for military members, military spouses, and students attending military schools. The group may discuss how COVID stressors may impact physical fitness, finances, and relationships, and how this can be growth producing. Groups are limited to 6-8 participants at a time. Discussion facilitators will provide some resources and stress management techniques and will allow for those who have comments to share. 

COL (Ret) Stephen V. Bowles, Ph.D., ABPP-CH, is currently serving as a Visiting Research Fellow in the Institute for National Security Studies at the National Defense University (NDU) and Adjunct Faculty at the Uniformed Services University. He is the Past President for Division 19 and former President for District of Columbia Psychology (DCPA) as well as APA Council Representative (DCPA). He served 27 years in the U. S. Army, a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and a graduate of The Eisenhower School at the National Defense University. He is a Distinguished Practitioner and Fellow of the National Academy of Practice in Psychology, a Fellow in the American Psychological Association and Board Certified in Clinical Health Psychology.




LTC Jimmie J. Butcher, Ph.D., is currently serving as the Command Psychologist at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C. and as the Deputy Clinical Psychology Consultant to the US Army Surgeon General.  He has served 23 years in the US Army and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, and Operation Enduring Freedom. 

He has previously served as the 5th Special Forces Group Command Psychologist; Director of Operations, US Army Special Operations Command Directorate of Psychological Applications; and Director of Training, Clinical Psychology Internship Program, Tripler Army Medical Center.  He is a member of American Psychological Association Division 19 (Society for Military Psychology), Division 13 (Society of Consulting Psychology), and 47 (Society for Sport, Exercise and Performance Psychology).
