This group is intended for anybody who is on the front lines, supporting their community during covid-19. The purpose of this group is to provide a space to engage in affirmative and comforting practices and address experiences around fear, shock, care and empathy. Techniques and resources will be provided. 

Angelina N. Nortey, PhD is the School-Based Program Manager and Supervisor at The MECCA Group, LLC. In her role, she supports school psychologists and psychologists conduct psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations, deliver related services and provide school-based teacher consultation. Dr. Nortey also supervises psychology associates who provide therapy to adults for a range of issues including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, body-image and workplace stress. Dr. Nortey particularly enjoys working with young adults around issues of identity development, resolving childhood trauma and functioning optimally.

  • Dr. McKenzie Green, is a therapist, who aims to provide a safe and trustworthy environment and utilize a cognitive behavioral therapy approach, along with other modalities. Her approach to therapy is to address the key issues and concerns that led to your need for services and work diligently to build rapport and a positive therapeutic relationship.

    The approach to therapy that she utilize, allows both the client to apply a myriad of therapeutic techniques and modalities such as motivational interviewing, behavioral modification, cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, solution-focused, mindfulness, systems theory, trauma-focused, etc. She is passionate about helping people by starting where each individual client is in his/her/their own life. She has worked in the mental health field  for over 20 years, specializing in working with the following: Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, Mood Disorders, Children & Adolescents Diagnosed Behavioral Disorders. Foster Care Issues Child Abuse/Neglect Issues,   Psychotic Disorders, Anger Management Career Stress,  Stress Management, Skills Building, and Trauma. 

  • Dr. Green earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, followed by a Masters of Arts in Counseling and then hearend her Educational Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Green is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
