Event Details:

The DCPA Book Club will convene at the Somerset House to meet the author, Dr. Chutkan, and discuss her recently launched book.  A primary focus will include the relation between digestive health, mental health, and Dr. Chutkan's integrative approach to health promotion and healing.

DR. ROBYNNE CHUTKAN is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Georgetown Hospital and founder of the Digestive Center for Women LLC.  She believes in helping her patients live not just longer, but better lives. As an integrative gastroenterologist, she considers nutritional optimization, stress reduction, exercise and other lifestyle factors an integral part of the diagnostic and therapeutic endeavor.  She completed her undergraduate education at Yale University, medical school and residency at Columbia University, and has been on faculty at Georgetown since 1997.  In 2004, Dr. Chutkan founded The Digestive Center for Women, an integrative gastroenterology practice, located in Chevy Chase, Maryland.  And she also founded a digestive wellness startup called Gutbliss (www.Gutbliss.com) - great source of integrative gastroenterology information for patients and practitioners.  She is the author of two books: Gutbliss (2013) and The Microbiome Solution (2015).  She is an avid snowboarder, runner and yogi.
