Event Details:

The DCPA Book Club will convene at the Somerset House to meet the author, Dr. Gage, and discuss his book on family and non-family business partners.

David Gage grew up in an “intermittently dysfunctional” family business, which he credits for his interest in psychology and family systems.  He had a full-time practice and taught couples and family therapy to psychiatry residents at UM Med School before studying mediation and starting a firm that specializes in resolving conflicts among co-owners of closely held businesses.  BMC Associates is one of the only multidisciplinary firms (psychology, business and law) in the country specializing in conflict prevention and resolution for business co-owners.  Dr. Gage’s book, published 11 years ago, is now responsible for an average of 2-3 referrals each week and remains one of the only books available that describes both the personal and business discussions, negotiations and agreements entrepreneurs need to have before joining forces.
