COVID-19 Task Force
In response to the current crisis and challenges posed by the pandemic, DCPA has established a COVID-19 Task Force that aims to provide a supportive presence and united front for our members and our community. It is our belief that as mental health professionals we play an essential role as leaders to promote both the personal and collective healing and wellbeing of our community.
The Task Force organized a virtual townhall (see below) and is offering support groups, a telehealth therapist finder and referral directory, resource center, educational articles, and free membership for individuals experiencing financial strain. These resources are aimed to assist all community members, including providers, government employees, and students. Visit our Events page for details on our self-care, parenting, clergy, first responder, veteran and military support groups. We will be sharing information regularly on our social media platforms - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube (@dcpsychassoc) - and providing updated resources on our website.
Additionally, advocacy remains an important value as an association and we are reaching out to the Mayor's office to continue advocating for our need for PSYPACT, as we know now more than ever it is a timely issue. It is our hope that DCPA can serve as a focal point in this struggle and be a common grounding place to experience strength, hope, and to foster resilience. We really are stronger together. We invite you to join us.
